Head from item #801. A Roman copy of a Greek original from the late third century also known as the Dying Trumpeter. Set up at Pergamum in the last half of the third century to commemorate the victory of Attalus I over the invading Gauls. The original is thought to be the work of the sculptor Epigonus. Circa 220 B.C.E.
