1705-1762 Louis Francois Roubiliac was a French born sculptor who worked in England for the majority of his career. He was recognized as the most brilliant portrait sculptor of the day after his successful full length seated statue of the composer Handel. In addition to portrait sculpture he excelled as a tomb sculptor.
