Charles Henri Joseph Cordier Sculpture Reproductions

1827-1905. An ethnographic sculptor born in France, Cordier briefly studied at Ecole des Beaux-Arts before moving on to work at the studio of sculptor Francois Rude. There he sculpted his first ethnographic work, a portrait of a freed black slave by the name of Seid Enkess. Cordier went on to exhibit his ethnographic sculptures in many prestigious art shows and gained great esteem.
