This mask is from Item #126. The life-size portrait of who may be Antiochus III was created between the late 1st century B.C.E. and the early 1st century C.E. The head is original while the bust was added at some point later to reproductions. Antiochus III is known as "The Great" because of his ambitious attempt to reconquer lost provinces and to expand his kingdom. He ruled Seleucid from 223-187 B.C.E.
