Uffizi Gallery Sculpture Reproductions

The Uffizi Gallery was designed in 1560 by Giorgio Vasari at the request of Cosmo I de’Medici. The gallery was originally built to serve as government offices. In 1574 Cosimo’s son Francisco de’Medici had the top floor converted into a place for paintings, sculpture and other artwork amassed by the Medici family throughout the ages. The grand duke Leopold I had the gallery open to the public in 1769.
