Also known as Bather. Commissioned in 1756 and completed in 1767. The concept was loosely derived from Giambologna. Diderot praised it when it was shown at the 1767 Salon. Louis XV offered it to his mistress, Madame Du Barry, who placed it in the park of her home the Chateau de Louveciennes.
