Andrea Del Verrocchio Sculpture Reproductions
1435-1488 Andrea Del Verrocchio was a fifteenth century Florentine sculptor and painter and the teacher of Leonardo da Vinci. Born Andrea di Cione he changed his name to Andrea Del Verrocchio seemingly after his master Giuliano Verrocchi. After the death of Donatello he rose to prominence as an artist with the encouragement of Piero de’ Medici and his son Lorenzo. For the Medici family he created paintings and sculptures along with designed costumes and decorative armor for their festivals, tournaments and solemn receptions.
