Desiderio da Settignano Sculpture Reproductions
1430-1464 Desiderio da Settignano was a well known early renaissance sculptor who made portraiture of children popular. Settignano was particularly influence by Donatello’s low reliefs and the artist’s own low reliefs were unrivaled during the fifteenth century for subtlety and technical accomplishment. His portraiture of women and children are well known for their delicate, sensitive, original compositions. Very little is known of his personal life and very few works have survived.
