Born April 20, 1850, died October 7, 1931. Daniel Chester French is a well known American sculptor. He is best known for his seated Lincoln located in Washington D.C., In the course of 50 years Mr. French created a vast number of works depicting American subjects. His country home, studio and garden are located in Glendale; a hamlet near Stockbridge MA, “Chesterwood” is open to the public.
