Joseph Chinard Sculpture Reproductions
1756-1813 A French sculptor, Chinard excelled at portrait busts giving his figures a poetic refinement and realistic vitality. He enjoyed the patronage of the Lyonnais official, Jean-Marie Delafont de Juis and was able to travel to Rome were he studied the art of antiquity. In 1786 he won first prize for sculpture at the Accademia di S Luca.
